While she flipped through the book in exasperation, Vornn the Unspeakable laughed with immeasurable gusto. 

"You're stuck with me for a long time, kiddo!" he said, still chuckling. "A very, very long time. You think you can figure out the book of dark gods, when it is composed of the notes of thousands of mad men and geniuses throughout history? If it's any consolation, this world is going to end very soon if others like me are running about."

Violet let out a loud groan of frustration and threw the book to her feet. 

"If you asked me if the time was right for us to rise, I honestly think I woke up too late." Vornn snapped his tentacles.
