Author Biography: Who Am I?

Hello, I’m Alex Greenhill, a self-published author and poet who wants to inspire every typing octopus out there. After publishing my first novel Frankenshop at fifteen, I caught the writing bug and haven’t stopped telling stories since. I believe the mind’s eye is the best seat in the house for any great story.

I’ve always admired writers like Roald Dahl and Bruce Coville, both known for their humor and big imaginations. My favorite genres are horror and fantasy, and like my influences, I love adding a sense of absurdity and humor to my work. Frankenshop, a story about Doctor Frankenstein opening a pet shop full of monsters, is a perfect example.

I keep a collection of journals filled with ideas and doodles, sketches of characters, and creatures that might appear in future stories. So far, I’ve written two novels and several shorter works, including my capstone novella from my studies at American University.

I also live with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects muscle control and coordination. I’ve spent my life facing that challenge head-on, and one of the reasons I became a writer was to share my story with the world. My capstone piece features a protagonist with cerebral palsy in a Mesoamerican-inspired fantasy world, combining myth, imagination, and lived experience.

Through this website, I hope to inspire authors and readers to explore my stories and write their own.
