An Ode to Pens
As a writer, few things fascinate me more than the tools of the trade.
While I compose on my computer, all my raw ideas begin with pen and paper. To me, pens feel more official—each stroke leaves an impression that’s permanent and real.
I keep five or six active journals, filled with ideas, sketches, and story fragments. People often ask why I use pens instead of pencils. The answer? I press down hard when I write—pencils snap, but pens just flow. I love the tactile feeling of ink sinking into paper; it makes the writing process feel alive.
